Cafe Recharge

In creating a place of sustenance, refuge and enjoyment for local people and visitors, Cafe ReChange has quickly made itself invaluable in the Borders region by connecting food reuse, relationships and life skills. The journey of these two Directors serves as a model for new CiC’s everywhere and is a story of intelligence, kindness and determination.

Together in a series of planning sessions we worked through business modelling, income streams and events/products, cost efficiencies and staffing needs – to ensure they could both stay true to their ideals and future-proof the business.

Cafe REcharge’s resulting business plan will sustain and grow the Directors, the organisation and its impact by creating volunteer and job opportunities, widening beneficiaries and partnerships. Every town and neighbourhood in Scotland would be lucky to have a place like it.
