This is a network of 10 Scottish organisations that provide access for artists and the public to art-making facilities, covering photography, printmaking, sculpture and glass. The impressive group stretches from Glasgow, Edinburgh and Dundee to Aberdeen, Lumsden and Inverness and is internationally unique.
We spent a year formulating a close, progressive group; first bringing the Directors together to agree the group’s shared aims and priorities, we then created an effective strategy to define their future and the amazing work they do. Our work involved generating working teams among staff across the organisations, creating their partnership agreement, government lobbying preparation, tactical worklist and tools for sharing and generating their new name, brand, promo film and website/social media.
The organisations are a foundation for contemporary art in Scotland. The strategic planning and establishment of this collaborative network will help ensure its impact on artists, economy and public for many years.
Launched and branded in October 2019 by Vis-aVis as Scotland’s Workshops theyare all regularly funded organisations by Creative Scotland: Stills, Edinburgh Sculpture Workshop, Edinburgh Printmakers, Dundee Contemporary Arts, Peacock Visual Arts, Scottish Sculpture Workshop, Highland Print Studio, Glasgow Sculpture Studios, Glasgow Print Studio and Street Level Photoworks.
