Historic Environment Scotland (International)

The International product and services research project involved auditing all of the organisation’s departments international working across such areas as conservation, heritage management, training, digital mapping, trade skills and education. With over 1000 employees, though this work was not yet collated across HES departments each regularly contribute to projects across the world.

The findings were drawn into a rationale of services that could be shared further with developing countries and with international partners such as UNESCO, government bodies and other conservation partners working globally. Our research entailed potential locations for each service and who/where was currently undertaking similar work, identifying gaps and potential partners.

The research findings will inform a future strategy for HES who are ambitiously extending their expertise, knowledge and assets for their agendas on international impact and global citizenship.
