“If there was a STAR Project in every Local Authority, many of Scotland’s social problems would disappear.” Scottish Book Trust
Star Project, based in Paisley, East Renfrewshire and is an independent service for those who need a non-judgmental helping hand. With an open-door policy, they devise and run therapeutic workshops using creative, approachable methods. Their goals are both broad and often bespoke to individuals; to encourage people to find the right help, develop their own insight, make changes to behavioural habits and ultimately feel stronger and more able to live their lives.
To help secure the team’s future we worked with them across a year to help develop their plans for expansion and service diversification, by understanding their team’s strengths as assets. We assessed ways to advocate their work to organisations who can play a role in achieving Star’s goals, generating income from their expertise while continuing their compassionate work for so many.
